2007 Reviews & Feedback...

"JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!...

Open at any page and find a delicious recipe - or a beautifully reproduced watercolour - or a lovely photograph - or a tip for a herbal tonic. Be amazed at the beneficial effect of lime flowers; or try the Flu Toddy, made from root ginger, honey and lemon - great even when you don't have flu!

Concluding with an extensive list of resources, including contact information for plant supplies and professional organisations, this little gem is highly suitable for gardeners. But if you just like good quality satiny pages in a smart spiral binding and a book to browse through that also serves as a diary - then be prepared for a treat.

Zoe Hawes is the author of the compilation. Lesley Eyles has contributed many of the watercolours, and Zoe much of the excellent and imaginative photography.

A useful and interesting present just in time for Christmas"

Eric Peacock - Tollesbury Parish Magazine

"The author of this charming 2007 desk diary is a trained nurse who found it to be 'an amazing revelation' when she discovered that you could 'do herbs as a job. Zoe Hawes was at the end of her nurse training and had become disillusioned with a system that seemed flawed because of the lack of encouragement for people to take responsibility for their own health; the symptomatic treatment approach, the pills, surgery, and poor nutritional advice. She is now a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists having competed a course with the School of Phytotherapy.

The spiral-bound, soft- backed diary would make a great Christmas gift. It is a collection of illustrations and ideas from artists, photographers, herbalists and others who have a strong interest in the natural healing world of plants...It is a useful weekly planner with plenty of space for each day's events on one page, and a featured herb on the other. The historic notes - for example, on Tycho Brahe, considered the father of modern astronomy are fascinating."
